Want to know how to get into travel writing? Or what really happens on a travel writing trip?
In this podcast featured on Bondi Beach radio’s travel program, Wanderlust, I talk about the difference between a holiday and a travel writing trip, the realities of sharing ‘talent’ and how to get paid to travel.
Some great tunes at the top of the podcast, but if you are busting to get to the chat, it starts around 31 mins. Stay tuned after I’m done and you’ll hear from travel blogger Russell Ward on the second half of the audio – a two for one deal!
Thanks to Kate Mayors of Bondi Beach radio for hosting – it was loads of fun – and that’s even before factoring in the great Bondi view from the studio.
Yay! Welcome back Sue. Great to be receiving your wonderful emails every week. Travel writing is going well from this end. Lots of famils scheduled, which means lots of pitching I need to do!
Well, delighted to have a nice welcome. Although I confess this was a sneaky one off before I duck back to other things for the summer. Just thought it would be so useful decided not to wait till 2014 to share. Mean. Like a teaser really… Delighted travel writing going so well for you – famils scheduled is fabulous – yes, pitch pitch pitch!
Great podcast and very timely for me!! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to my mentoring session in November/December!!!
Perfect on all counts ๐
Oh well. One blog post for the rest of the year is still wonderful! Hopefully you have time to answer this travel-related question, but no worries if you can’t. I can always try again in 2014!
Question: I plan to pitch a destination to an inflight magazine. The only problem is that the place is either a 4 hour drive or 2 hour flight away from where that airline goes. Would the editor think that was too far away?
So looking forward to hearing from you again. And enjoy the weekend writer’s course.
