About

I'm based in Canberra, Australia, and write for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers every week.

Across almost 20 years of freelance journalism, my writing has been published in magazines, newspapers and online publications globally. In Australia these include the ABC, SBS online, Vogue, Australian Geographic, Jetstar's magazine and dozens more.

Internationally I've been published by CNN Traveller, CNBC, the South China Morning Post and many more.

But journalism is just part of the picture.

I provide well-crafted words for organisations and tailored writing trainings for work teams. Whether you hire me as a writer, media trainer or communications consultant for a one-off project, or on one of my new retainer packages, you get my strategic thinking and decades of strategic communications expertise as part of the deal.

Copywriting retainers

Retainer clients get my services at a discounted rate, in exchange for weekly outputs from me. It's an excellent deal, but it's not for everyone.

Let me tell you how it works.

More about me

1

I've been training people to improve their writing skills since 2009, and running a media training business with fellow journalist Ginger Gorman since 2017.  Happy to help your team with either or both!

2

Storytelling lead

I often flex my strategic story skills and corporate coaching muscles for Wordstruck, where I've recently worked with clients like Woolworths (AU) and Selfridges (UK).

3

Sustainability

I’m a proud 2010 alumna of the Centre for Sustainability Leadership. This network of, built between 2004 + 2018 now includes hundreds of movers and shakers in sustainability leadership roles across Australia.
